Bonsai quando posso

Idee, Bonsai e Prebonsai

These last days

Published by Unknown under on 21:53

I've just prepared the "comfort zone" for the smaller plants.
At the momente the weather is still fine so I'm not covering them with the plastic protection yet.

A walk in the park

Ho provato a riportarne alcune in queste foto.

Yesterday I took a walk in the woods near me, if someone wuold like to know better these places the official site of the park is very usefull.
It's an interesting forest with a great variety of woods landscapes.

I took some picture showing some of these differences

Removing the wire

Published by Unknown under on 12:43

In these days I removed the wirings on my plants.
Even though the wire was applied not so much time ago the autumn is the period when the bark get thick so the wirings can ruin the bark.
Branches do not always stick to the selected position but I prefere to preserve the bark (especially on the deciduos, I will rewire in spring if needed.
some signs left by the wire are shown in the pictures, they're not so bad, with a bit of time they will disappear.
I didn't remove the wiring on the larix stump cause I have just applied it, but I'm looking often on it to check the situation.

Maybe some plants are coming

Aggiornamenti in arrivo.

The other evening I've been to a friend house, he has to do some work in his garden and some of his plants are going to be removed.
So I agreed with him to pick up two or three junipers , a few hedge plants ( I have yet to understand which species are ) some strains of roses , and maybe even some evergreen seedling that is parked in the border.
Obviusly this is not the best period to do this kind of work but my friend is running out of time so we will try to treat the plants in the more appropriate way.

Robinia pseudoacacia

Robinia Pseudoacacia (black locust) is a U.S. native tree wich were introduced in Europe centuries ago and became endemic in my area, its fresh and light foliage always fascinated me.
Dew to the leaves structure and dimension and its rapid growth is not appreciated as a bonsai species.
Knowing that I like this tree my friend Christian, with my huge joy, decide to gave me its plant; He collected it some years ago.
The plant has a conic trunk and a nice movement, it has an issue with the roots, but I will try to recover it with an air layering.
When he gave it to me was in complete fall attire, but I soon cleaned it and try to wire it to have a "maybe possible" future.

Larix Masterclass pt. 2

Published by Unknown under , on 11:24

Yesterday I finished styling the larix stump. Yes the tree need some more details finishing but for now I think the plant has been stressed enough.
Major work was on the inclination of the trunks, starting point was an heterogeneous group of plant, With a work of wiring and ties I achieved a better design, from that point I've focused on the branches giving to the plant a proper design.
I think the result is oretty good, the tree now needs a restfull period where it can grow stronger.

Ramification

Published by Unknown under , , on 16:23

Voglio mostrare qualche foto del frassino. In questi giorni l'ho pulito e potato.

I want to show some pictures of the ash. In These days I cleaned it and pruned. Being a really generous plant I have no regrets about cutting a lot knowing that then the plant will grow vigorously.
With the next repotting I will be able to finally put the plant in the right angle. It will necessary to establish the final form of the plant.
At the moment the tree present a lack of ramification in the higher and the lower part. For the high I have no doubt that new buds will spring. In the lower part of the trunks there are some branches that I can let grow freely to grow (otherwise I can cut them away).
Ash ramification is hard to control. Branches in fat grow very fast and thick so spring pinching is mandatory.
Front picture doesn't shows it but it's noticiable in the other pictures that the primary ramification is good (at least for me).
