Bonsai quando posso

Idee, Bonsai e Prebonsai

Alnus and Cherry

Hi! First I wanna say that in the next few days I will publish a post about a great Styling job on a Abies Koreana that I did with the help of Master settembrin on a Abies Koreana.
Today I will show you two new plants that I've purchased in a garden center.
In my opinion are a good starting material to achieve a couple of shohin.
One is a black alder  (Alnus Glutinosa Imperialis), when I saw it the radial position of the roots immediatly catch my eyes, they could be a great start for a nebari,
This year I will cut it back, leave a sacrifice branch to enlarge the trunk and I'll pinch the braches to keep them compact. Easy work, next year I will repot and style.
Same works that I will apply to the second plant; a Fuji Cherry (Prunus incisa "Kojou-no-mai").
What I like of this essence is the color of the bark and the movement of the branches, unfortunatly the roots are not as good as the Alder but the price was good so I took it,
I'm sure I will get some satisfaction from these small trees.
